What is Intex Pharma Nolvadex?

Intex Pharma Nolvadex contains Tamoxifen Citrate, a Selective Oestrogen Receptor Modulator (SERM) and the most widely used post-cycle therapy compound in UK bodybuilding. Each pack contains 60 tablets at 20mg of Tamoxifen Citrate per tablet, providing a complete four to six week PCT course at standard dosing. Intex Pharma produces Nolvadex to pharmaceutical grade standards, with every batch independently verified by Janoshik Analytical before despatch.

Tamoxifen Citrate has a half-life of five to seven days, which means it reaches a stable plasma concentration quickly with once-daily dosing. It is not an aromatase inhibitor and does not lower oestrogen levels throughout the body. Instead it competes with oestrogen at specific receptor sites, making it fundamentally different to compounds like Anastrozole or Aromasin and significantly more appropriate as a PCT compound for the majority of users.

How Intex Pharma Nolvadex works for PCT

During a steroid cycle, elevated androgen and oestrogen levels suppress gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH) from the hypothalamus, which shuts down LH and FSH from the pituitary, which stops the testes producing testosterone. When the cycle ends, this suppression does not lift automatically, particularly after longer or more suppressive cycles.

Intex Pharma Nolvadex addresses this by blocking oestrogen receptors at the hypothalamus and pituitary without activating them. The brain interprets this as a low-oestrogen environment and increases GnRH output, which drives up LH and FSH, which signals the Leydig cells in the testes to resume testosterone production. Research by Shabsigh et al. published in the International Journal of Impotence Research confirms that tamoxifen-induced increases in LH and FSH restore natural testosterone synthesis after a steroid cycle. In parallel, Tamoxifen acts as a partial oestrogen agonist in the liver, raising HDL cholesterol during PCT and partially offsetting the lipid impact of the preceding cycle.

When to start

Timing is the most critical variable in any PCT protocol. Starting Nolvadex while a long-acting ester is still active in the bloodstream renders it largely ineffective because the testes have no reason to restart production while exogenous testosterone remains elevated. Wait two weeks after your last injection of Testosterone Enanthate or Cypionate before beginning PCT. For compounds with a Decanoate ester, wait three weeks. For short-ester compounds including Testosterone Propionate, PCT can begin two to three days after the last injection.

Standard protocol after a testosterone-based cycle

Take once daily with food. Morning dosing is preferred to avoid any impact on sleep. The long half-life of Tamoxifen makes split dosing unnecessary and less convenient than a single daily tablet.

After a heavier or longer cycle

Cycles of 16 weeks or longer, or cycles that included 19-nor compounds such as Nandrolone or Trenbolone, require a longer PCT course. Run Nolvadex at 40mg for two weeks then 20mg for a further four weeks. Add Intex Pharma Clomid throughout for stronger gonadotropin stimulation. If Nandrolone or Trenbolone was included, also consider Intex Pharma Cabergoline to address any prolactin elevation, which Nolvadex alone does not resolve.

Side effects of Nolvadex

Intex Pharma Nolvadex is well tolerated by most users at standard PCT doses. The most commonly reported side effects are mild and temporary.

• Hot flushes. Common in the first week. Usually mild and self-resolving within a few days.
• Mood changes. Partly a result of recovering hormone levels rather than a direct Nolvadex effect. Consistent training and good sleep during PCT help considerably.
• Reduced libido. Temporary. Resolves as testosterone recovers fully after PCT ends.
• Visual disturbances. Rare at standard PCT doses. Reduce the dose immediately if any changes to vision occur. Persistent visual symptoms require medical review.
• Nausea. Taking Nolvadex with food reduces this significantly for most users.

How to confirm your PCT worked

Run a blood panel four weeks after your last Nolvadex tablet. Testing immediately after PCT ends gives a misleading picture because Tamoxifen continues to influence gonadotropin levels for a period after the last dose due to its long half-life. Check total testosterone, free testosterone, LH, FSH and oestradiol. Rising LH and FSH followed by rising total testosterone in the weeks that follow confirms the HPG axis is recovering autonomously. Your recovery target is your pre-cycle baseline, not simply within the NHS reference range.
